The PACCAR MX engine is available with a horsepower range of 380hp-485hp and torque outputs up to 1,750 lb-ft.  This power range, combined with excellent fuel efficiency, high reliability, durability, lightweight design and low cost of ownership makes it an ideal choice for both over-the-road line-haul and vocational applications.

We look forward to delivering our integrated and optimized best-in-class drivetrain to our customers, shared Craig Brewster, PACCAR assistant vice president.  The PACCAR MX engine generates up to 485hp with excellent performance across a wide range of engine speeds.  In addition to performance excellence, PACCAR pioneered the design and manufacture of high-strength compacted graphite iron (CGI) used in the MX engine block and cylinder head.  This premium material is more durable and lighter than conventional grey iron resulting in superior power-to-weight performance, added Brewster.  The electronically controlled high pressure fuel injection system delivers excellent fuel economy and assists in achieving the low emissions required by the EPA.  The engines block design and rear gear train contributes to significantly lower in-cab noise levels resulting in a more comfortable driver environment.  The integral engine brake provides powerful performance across a broad range of engine RPMs.

SCR and EGR Solution for EPA 2010 Engine Emission Requirements
The PACCAR MX engine uses Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in combination with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) to meet the EPA 2010 diesel engine emissions regulations.  The combination of SCR and EGR provides Kenworth and Peterbilt customers with a highly efficient solution to meet the EPAs 2010 requirements.  PACCARs world-class vehicles have successfully operated Euro 4 and Euro 5 certified SCR emission systems for several years, noted Dan Sobic, PACCAR executive vice president.

PACCAR Global Dealer Network Provides Outstanding Customer Support
Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers provide exceptional parts and service support for the PACCAR MX engine at more than 1,900 service locations.  The PACCAR MX has been designed for ease of maintenance, which results in improved efficiency in dealers service facilities.  The dealerships have certified PACCAR MX trained technicians and a complete inventory of service parts.  The PACCAR Call Centers provides technical support 24/7 365 days a year.

PACCAR MX Engine Honored in Asia
The PACCAR MX engine has been honored with the Best Engine of the Year Award for three consecutive years at the Bus World Asia Exhibition held in Shanghai, China.  The PACCAR MX engine has earned this accolade as a result of its industry-leading reliability, durability and fuel efficiency in the Chinese coach market.
