Well, now you can make repositioning easier and faster with the Fontaine Air Wedge Slide Bracket Fifth Wheel. Fontaine's air slide assembly uses an air cylinder which drives mechanical linkage to release tapered slide locking wedges. The air cylinder operates from a closed position protecting its stainless steel shaft from corrosion, bending and roadspray. Neoprene ® seals keep air in and dirt out. The spring is plated for extra protection against corrosion. Our sliding fifth wheel is as strong and reliable, as it is fast and convenient. It's built with the NO-SLACK®II standard and 5092 heavy-duty top plates incorporating low alloy, high-tensile formed steel and a heavy-duty steel substructure for increased structural integrity. The surface of our top plate is designed for uniform lubrication. The one-piece cast saddle bearings are built with large grease grooves for uniform grease flow and coverage. Safety, like strength, is engineered into the sliding fifth wheel. The fifth wheel locking mechanism incorporates an integral secondary safety lock to prevent false coupling and premature trailer disengagement.
