    PACCAR Donates Peterbilt Truck to East Mississippi Community College

    November 28, 2007, Bellevue, Washington – PACCAR donated a Peterbilt Model 387 truck to East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) for use in the school’s commercial vehicle drivers’ training program. Lex Lemmers, PACCAR engine plant manager, made the announcement in a ceremony held on the school’s Golden Triangle Campus in Mayhew, Mississippi, and presented the keys to Dr. Rick Young, EMCC president. "PACCAR is pleased to make this donation to enhance the innovative educational leadership at East Mississippi Community College. EMCC is a great partner and has supported PACCAR as we establish ourselves in Mississippi and the Golden Triangle area," said Lemmers. "This donation demonstrates PACCAR’s commitment to give back to the community," said Dr. Young. "The Golden Triangle region and the state of Mississippi are fortunate to have a company of PACCAR’s caliber contribute to our educational initiatives," added Young.

    PACCAR is building a 400,000-square-foot engine plant near Columbus, Mississippi. The $400 million facility will be one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly commercial vehicle diesel engine facilities in North America. "We have been working closely with EMCC developing extensive training programs for future PACCAR employees," said Lance Walters, assistant plant manager. "We have established offices at EMCC and are pleased to be able to utilize these excellent facilities and work with their professional staff of educators."
