PACCAR Contributes to Global Education Funding

February 16, 2007, Bellevue, WA PACCAR is donating $2 million to Gonzaga University for the construction of the new PACCAR Center for Applied Science.  Gonzaga University President Father Robert Spitzer, S.J., commented, PACCARs leadership in supporting academic excellence, through its generous donation to Gonzaga, will have an immediate, positive impact on the technology capability of the region.  Our students will be better prepared for todays fast-paced world and will enhance the future growth of the organizations they join globally.

PACCAR has over 21,000 employees worldwide and is committed to supporting leading educational institutions in the communities in which our employees reside, said Mark Pigott, chairman and chief executive.  PACCAR has been committed to supporting educational excellence through donations to universities, independent college funds and various scholarship programs for 100 years always focused on the betterment of students and society.  Children are the future leaders and investing in their growth and development is our finest legacy. During the past three years, PACCAR has provided over $14 million in educational grants and donations.  PACCAR was honored by the Independent Colleges of Washington (ICW) for being a leading contributor for 50 years.

PACCAR donated $1.5 million to the University of North Texas (UNT) last year to endow the PACCAR Technology Institute and the PACCAR Professorship of Engineering.

The PACCAR Teaching Excellence award at the University of Washington Business School was established in 1997 to recognize superior teaching at a graduate school of business.  The award is the largest honorarium given to an individual professor for graduate school of business teaching in the United States.  University of Washington Business School Dean Jim Jiambalvo commented, PACCAR is a wonderful supporter of the UWs education excellence programs and is a major reason why the UW Business School is a national leader.
