DENTON, Texas (November 21, 2006) – Peterbilt Motors Company is the highest ranked manufacturer in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Medium-Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction StudySM in the conventional medium-duty truck segment.

This latest award is the fifth time Peterbilt has ranked highest in customer satisfaction among Conventional Medium-Duty Trucks in the annual J.D. Power and Associates study.

Peterbilt received the highest scores in two of the four factors that comprise overall conventional product satisfaction – performance and cost of ownership – and was significantly higher than the industry average in quality as well.  In the five areas that make up the performance factor, Peterbilt scored significantly higher than the industry in all of them, and led in three – interior, exterior and engine.

The J.D. Power and Associates study is based on interviews with nearly 1,500 principal maintainers, such as fleet managers or owner-operators, of two-year-old conventional cab medium-duty trucks.

Expanded Medium Duty Product Lineup
This year Peterbilt introduced three new medium duty vehicles to join the Model 335 – the Model 220, Model 330 and Model 340.  The Model 335 remains a true Class 7 vehicle that is ideal for the majority of medium duty applications, such as van body and beverage distribution.  The Model 330 is a Class 6 truck or tractor than can be configured for non-CDL operation.
