“Both PACCAR and the Mariners have a long-standing commitment to youth education. This partnership will set another milestone by purchasing more than 45,000 books for children,” said Chuck Armstrong, Mariners President and COO. The three-year sponsorship agreement between PACCAR and the Mariners includes important support for Page Ahead, a statewide children’s literacy program. Through the PACCAR RBIs for Literacy program, the PACCAR Foundation will donate $100 to Page Ahead for each run batted in by a Mariner player during the season. PACCAR will also sponsor three book drives at Safeco Field during the season to collect new children’s books for donation to Page Ahead.

“Page Ahead is thrilled to be partnering with PACCAR and the Mariners to give children in need the opportunity to read. This program gives new books to children who will really treasure them and raises community awareness about the importance of reading with children,” said Susan Dibble, Executive Director of Page Ahead.
